Goodness, Ed, sorry

Post by Lysis »

I was doing so well with the article acceptance, got all excited about a public request, and broke my rule on waiting a few days before proofing. I'm glad you caught that error.

This leads me to a question. Is the sense of urgency to get the article out unnecessary? I know it's not a black and white answer and depends on the customer, but is it generally ok to wait a couple of days before submitting an article for a public request?

I always recommend that the author waits. Submitting an article with errors actually wastes more time than it saves.

Thanks,

Ed, I'm sorry about my sloppiness lately too! Hidden link in the text...wrong category checked...ugh. I will take more care.

I do have a question though. The last few articles I submitted, I selected "Public request: name of public request" and then Private Request as the subcat, since the buyer had emailed me about the specific topics I was submitting. But she hadn't made a private request through the system. The first few articles went through fine like that but then the last one was rejected...was I doing it wrong the whole time and you just let it slide the first few times?

Also--if it's for a private request, whether or not they've made it formally through the system, do we still have to fill in the short summary?

Antonia,

Sorry for the confusion. Those other articles should have been rejected. If, for some reason, the customer decided not to pick those articles up, your articles would not be available for general purchase. Articles for public requests must be categorized as they would for general purchase. Only when the author has been sent a private request by the customer may articles be designated as private requests.

In all situations, all parts of the submission form need to be filled out.

Thanks,
Ed
