Also, if you look under Edit and see that it's in "review" that doesn't mean that the document is there. Scan down to the bottom of the page and look to see if a document is listed under Files.

CRA,

All I can say is, nothing ventured, nothing gained :)

I'm not clear on how submitting an article to CC is as great a risk or income-losing proposition as your post seems to suggest. You own all the rights to the article until it is sold (for unique or full rights), so if it doesn't sell within a time frame you set for yourself, you can delete it from CC and submit it elsewhere. It's like taking a used book to a consignment book shop and if it sells, it sells, but if it doesn't, you can take it out of the shop and try another shop, eBay, Craigslist, or whatever. The consignment book shop doesn't own the book you are trying to sell there, just provides you with a venue, marketing, billing, etc.

I hope that puts your mind at esae. I have submitted 50 articles to CC and have never had a technical problem, but I know technology is not perfect, so if I encounter a problem I just try again until it does work. Luckily, CC has a helpful, responsive writers' community and usually, even if Support is unavailable or overwhelmed, CC writers are able to help answer questions, as seems to have happened in this thread.

Hope this helps!

Debbi

P.S. Haha, I guess that wasn't ALL I could say......

Asking questions is the only way to learn anything. Every time a new writer asks a question, it's an opporutnity to provide answers to things other new writers may be wondering about but are hesitant to ask.

CRA I hope you are still around and didn't give up. It sounds like you are a far more experienced author than I am. From my perspective I have to echo the others. Technical glitches happen. Since you write for DS, you might be familiar with eHow's latest binge and purge upheaval. As a rookie, I am looking at the stability of CC as a plus. The guidelines are clear and consistently applied. The staff usually responds directly in the forums. I have noticed others mentioning that direct email doesn't seem to get the same response time as a forum post. I hope you stick around. Since you are so experienced I would like to pick your brain from time to time. Best of Luck - Phil

Just a suggestion of what might have happened (maybe this helps someone else), this could happen if you accidentally rename the file or move it after already choosing it through the web interface.

For instance, if you choose the file in CC's submit page and then go back to the article and change its file name or cut/paste it into another directory. That could explain why you see something in the textbox but nothing uploads.

Just something to think about since I know most of us copy files back and forth between a progress folder.
