At first I wasn't going to bother posting . . . . but . . . . I sold my first article!!
What a rush to see that email! I wish I knew which discerning customer bought it (apart from the user name) and where it's going to appear -- I'd love to visit it at its new home.
Thanks to everyone who answered my questions as I was figuring things out. (Not that I won't have more.)
All the happy emoticons:
Sold!

Re: Sold!
Congratulations. I find the buzz doesn't lessen when you get sales; it's still a great feeling. Suggest you leave it a week or so and then google part of the article, putting it in quotes, to see if it comes up . It doesn't always work but it's great when it does and you see the piece online. Of course, if you sold full rights it may not have your byline and you may find it copied over and over on different sites.
Re: Sold!
Yaaaaaay! So exciting! I still get that jump in heart rate when I see one of my articles is sold. I bet even the authors who have been here for years and have sold a zillion articles still get a thrill.
I've tracked down a few of my sold articles. Usually I'm glad to see what's become of them but sometimes I'm disappointed in how they are being presented. Still, it's nice to know they're out there!
Again, congrats, and may you have that thrill again and again and again and again.........
