Anyone got a non-spammy online thesaurus/dictionary link?

Post by Lysis »

I use thesaurus.com and dictionary.com, but they have gotten so spammy. It's annoying me. Will the Netflix popup spammage ever die?

Anyone have a suggestion for a good thesaurus/dictionary site?

I use M-W.com. Not wonderful, especially with the startling recent addition of videos/ads that automatically play, but better than dictionary.com.

As for a thesaurus - get yourself a Roget's.

Thanks. I'll try MW. I just want a good ol' fashioned, pre-Adsense online dictionary and thesaurus. Maybe I'm being an old 1990s fart, but I hate video ads too.

I use m-w.com, too (Merriam-Webster). If you look near the search field, you'll see an option for using the thesaurus as well as the dictionary.

I swear by WordWeb -- it's a download and the free version is fine.
