Marketing

Post by karrie1908 »

I was wondering if any vetran CC writers could offer any tips for marketing CC articles to increase sales? I have five articles currently for sale, many were for public requests that have been released by the system and I am curious about the different ways in which authors are driving clients to their articles. Any advice? :D

I use Twitter and also post the widget on my blog. You can set up your CC feed to automatically "tweet" to your Twitter account or you can manually tweet articles here and there. For example, on the day after Thanksgiving I tweeted a discounted article and it sold right away. Hmnn, I may have to tweet a year end clearance sale. Other than that, I don't do much independent marketing of my CC articles.

Sorry to go a bit 'off-topic', but can I ask you, Celeste what size your widget is ? Oops, sounds a bit rude put like that

I downloaded one to my site following the easy peasy directions in the video demo. but it popped up right in the centre of the opening page just under the title and was a lot bigger than I imagined. I had presumed it would be a small link somewhere in the left of right margin. It looked a bit intrusive so being the shrinking violet that I am I took it down, and retreated behind the settee in case anyone had seen it

I did try to reduce the size and slide it over but to no avail... I wonder if it is because I have a Google blogspot, which is a bit basic.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any advice would be welcome.

Hmmn, I have the widget on WordPress as well as Blogspot/Blogger and it's about the "right" size (whatever that is). I think you can adjust the width in Blogger. Click the Layout tab and then find your widget in the sidebar. Since you removed it, you'll need to add it again. Once there, you should see it in the list of widgets along with an edit link. Click that and you'll see the code. Where the code says, "style=width:____ px" try changing that number. Mine is set to 200px wide.

I used the widget provided by CC here: http://innovativepassiveincome.blogspot.com/ It looks OK to me, but I kind of doubt I'll get any extra sales from it. Is that the same size you ended up with?

Thanks Celeste. I'll certainly try that, though having looked at jadedragon's link the size looked ok, and about the same size as mine.... but it was neatly in the margin where I thought mine should be.
Yours looked great, jadedragon .... guess it's back to the drawing board for me. Either that or I enlist the help of the next -door neighbours seven year- old

Thanks to you both anyway.

When you're in Blogger's layout section, click the "Add a Gadget" link in the sidebar (there are several Add a Gadget links) and it will appear on the side.

Eureka... thanks Celeste. Didn't notice the Add- a -Gadget margin . 'Should have gone to Specsavers'

It looks fine now. I don't expect a deluge of interest either, jadedragon but when the widget's provided I'll take advantage of it (with a little help from my friends!)
