Waiting

Post by Volante »

I have an article written for a public request that has been accepted but is under the 'waiting' status.
What does this mean? It has already been more than 3 days so by right it should be on the public list? ('view' status)

It means a buyer put your article in his cart. It's either the article is simply sitting in the buyer's cart forgotten (not paid) or payment is waiting to clear. Either way, you'll just have to be patient. If it's been a week and your article is still in waiting status, contact support and request they release your article back in the pool so other buyers can buy your article. (Use the online contact form, not email.) If you don't hear back from them in a day or two, do it a couple more times.

If left alone, will they eventually be released? Should we be watching every time?

It's happened to me a few times now and my articles have gone back into the pool without me contacting support on most of those occasions.

Thanks! I wouldn't want to overload support with something that would happen automatically unless the topic was time sensitive.

It was different for me. The last few times, I waited over a week and my articles never went back to the public pool automatically. Had to contact support. I just note the date when my articles get on the waiting status and wait. If a week goes by and they're still on waiting, I contact support to release them.

I've had an article in waiting for nearly two weeks now. No reply from the support messages I've sent. Any ideas on what to do next apart from go slowly crazy.....?

I wonder if adding a feature for customers similar to eBay's watch list would help with this problem. A customer could put an article on his watch list if he is interested in the article but he is not ready to buy it right away. An article on a watch list would still be viewable and available for sale to other customers. Just a thought.

You might want to think about sending in another article. Public requests move through the review process pretty fast - and who knows what might "pop-out" about the same time...

Good suggestion, Eric. Here's another thread where we tried suggesting how to deal with this waiting status thing:

=> http://www.constant-content.com/forum/v ... 9&start=15

I had 5 of mine on waiting status 11 days. (And I've also had a few that were on waiting status for 2 weeks.) EXTREMELY frustrating because it's been an issue for a long time. Hey, I wouldn't mind waiting if I knew that "waiting" status meant payment's on the way - not that the articles are just sitting in some buyer's cart abandoned. I don't know why some articles on waiting automatically go back to the pool after some time, but it hasn't happened to mine -- I've always had to keep an eye on my articles and note when they went on waiting status and then contact support many times.

Carol, keep contacting support - try doing it every 3 days if you don't hear from them via the form with the same message - that if no payment's waiting to clear, put your article back in the pool so it has a chance of selling.

Dennis, articles in "waiting" are articles that have already been approved and are in a buyer's cart.

Cheers - will try that :)

Hey Niche,

Thanx, I must have been half asleep and not noticed Carol was talking about being in waiting instead of review...

Sleep... must sleep... need sleep... Ahhhh, to sleep!!! - perchance to dream???
