Help with Research?

Post by Debbi »

I often find myself stalled when starting an article becuase I don't know where to look for data on product sales. For example, what if I wanted to konw how many breast pumps were sold in the US in 2009? Where would I look? There must be some database somehwere online that lists every product ever made or sold in the US and how many were sold in a particular year?

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

My gut feeling is to start with breast pump manufacturers associations (if they exist) and maybe La Leche to see if any figures are cited there, then drill down to their sources.

And maybe Hoovers Online? For example, if you could find the leading manufacturing companies, you might be able to research individual companies.

Gah, I thought that said "Hooters Online" at first. Train of thought, I guess  I think it's time to quit for the day and go have Sunday dinner with my son's family.

Thanks for the suggestions, Celeste :D
