Private request

Post by JD »

Ed

Hi. I submitted a private request article on Monday and it's yet to be reviewed. I am certain that I checked the 'private request' box, but I also then placed it in the relevant category, which results in it being 'listed' under that category as opposed to the private request category (at least when I look at it in the 'my content' list, and when it's listed in the 'recently sold items' section). I am wondering if this means it could get overlooked, hence the two days wait? No problem if you're swamped with private requests and that's why it's still waiting, but I thought I would bring it to your attention.

Many thanks.

Jane,
My experience is: if the client issues a private request that shows up on the tab in your requests folder, you can select that private request for submission, plus the category, and all will be fine. If the client does not go through the formalities of issuing the private request, upon submission you should only select private request in the categories section, or it will go in the general que. Support has threatened to remove that private request option from the categories section, which a few of us would miss, but I've found it's simplest - for client and author - to ask the client to go through the motions of the formal request.

Thanks, Emma. Yes, the customer has gone through the formaility of issuing a private request which shows up on my submission page, but then I also get the option of choosing the relevant category, which I do. I just wanted to highlight it as Ed usually reviews the private requests fairly quickly so am wondering if anything's amiss.

Thanks,

Jane

Hi Jane,

I always use the private request category when I first submit an article for a private request to Ed. This seems to get it in the "review quickly" pile. Then, once the article is approved, I go into the My Content section, click edit, and change the category of the article to something relevant and a category that will give me credit in the author's section (Expertise Groups). (Fame doesn't hurt! 8) )
Hope this helps,

Hayley

It just happens based on the categories that you write and sell in. For example, right now, the lowest person on the "Marriage and Dating" category has 11 articles in that category. You would need to have 12 to bump into that spot. (I'm not sure if the number is for listed articles or articles sold but I'm thinking it's articles sold).

Fab. Thanks for the info, Celeste :-)

[edit] Just did a bit of rummaging and comparing against authors' article lists and it looks as though it's published articles.
