Finding Sold Content on the Web

Just wondering, does anyone have any suggestions for finding sold CC content on the web? I read some time ago that some of our publishers leave web links so we can find the articles they purchase. I haven't seen this anywhere. I track through Google and Plagium, but wondered if I'm missing something?

I'm not aware of any publishers posting information on this site for the benefit of authors. However, sometimes a client who approaches an author with a private request will provide a link to the intended website for background purposes. If you're looking for articles you've sold, google the first line of your article in quotes. Some clients publish articles in newsletters and other print venues. Others wait a while before putting them up.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the site http://www.reuterspost.com/ has a LOT of stolen content on it. A few months back Google took down one of my stolen articles. Then today, I found this same article reposted there. I informed Google again about this, so hopefully it will be taken down quickly. I also mentioned that I believe all of the articles on that site are stolen, so with any luck Google will shut them down for good.

Anyway, if you write business articles you may want to check out that site for your articles.

CC ADMINS: Can't you take some action since all of the articles seem to be lifted from CC?

Edit: Woops, I thought this was a post about stolen content. I was so mad when I found my article on that site that I posted about it on here. Sorry!

I'm glad you posted, Eric - I found one of mine. I've already sold it, but I'm sure the client didn't post his merchandise on ReutersPost. I hope other authors will go check for their content, and go through the motions of alerting the powers - CC support, Google, the website's provider, etc.

"Hi Guys-
We have filed a comprehensive complaint against www.reuterspost.com, in an attempt to at least have their adwords account shut down so they can no longer profit off of your work. I am going to post something in the forum, but I would also encourage you to go to https://www.google.com/adsense/support/ ... wer=146178 and list all of your articles that are found there and corresponding CC urls. The more of us submit the better chance we have of shutting him down.

In the field 'What is the copyrighted work?' we suggest using the following: 'The work in question is my catalogue of saleable work. I am a freelance writer that sells my content on the constant-content network. All of the content I sell is mine and has been vetted by constant-content's plagiarism software iThenticate.'

Thanks for going after ReutersPost, Constant. One of my articles is on their website, but I've since sold full rights to it. Do I have any right to post a message to Google?

Google took down my article that was posted a second time. Hopefully this site will be taken down for good. Thanks for taking action on this David Kool (great name, btw!).

I found 3 of mine up there and I have sent notification to Google about it. I just wanted to post here to say that I am pretty sure I saw one of Antonia's articles up there from when she posted her batch of staycation articles. It was called "7 Heavenly Benefits of a Staycation".

Antonia, I know you frequent these forums, so I just wanted to give you the heads up if that one is yours.

You're right, that staycation one is mine! Thanks for the heads up. Spotted a few others too, so I've filled out the complaint form. Fingers crossed that reuterspost gets shut down for good.

One of mine is there but it sold months ago for full rights. I'd think the new owner would have to file the complaint, wouldn't they? I don't konw who they are or I'd give them the heads up. The article is "Starting Your Own Business: Do You Really Need a Business PLan?"

Yes, I would think the new owner would have to file the complaint. In my complaint I didn't include the URLs of any of my sold work, only the ones which are still on view.

The first time I notified Google about one of my articles on that site it took them about 2 weeks to take it down. I see that that site is still adding content - a new article from here was added in the last day or two.

I just found one of my recent articles hi jacked on the reuter's site mentioned!!!!

Someone had made me a low offer 2x and I refused. Now I see it on there stolen. What do I do?
