The Hydra! Thanks, Debbi, I was just about to Bing it, but you saved me the trouble.

And I'm such a fan of Lost, too, I should have known

Just checked and my strongly worded email seemed to work, my article has been taken down - maybe if we bombard him with stinging words (we are writers after all) and cutting ripostes he might take all of them down... worth a try!

The Hydra will live on, unfortunately, despite our best efforts...

Yeah, it's the Hydra that worries me. . .

I feel like typing "Do not steal this content. Do not delete this sentence saying not to steal this content. If you do delete this sentence saying not to steal this content(unless you legitimately purchased the rights in which case you'll have access to a clean copy of the text), then you're a big fat jerk as well as a content thief" as the opening line of each of my paragraphs. That would probably scare off all customers though, but that's what I feel like doing sometimes.

I don't know what the solution is, but it seems as though copyright infringement and plagiarism are poorly understood with few solid, international standards.

David,
Here's one of mine. It must have been stolen between the time I posted and sold it full rights. I almost feel worse about that than if it had never sold. I don't want that good client to go elsewhere for content!

On reuters:
http://www.reuterspost.com/2009/10/blog-post_6966.html

On CC:
http://www.constant-content.com/MoreDet ... _Claim.htm

Thanks for putting in the effort on this.

No worries people! I just got this reply from blogger:

Hello,

We have received your DMCA take-down notice on
http://www.reuterspost.com/2009/12/five ... s-dba.html
dated 04/29/10 and have reviewed the allegedly infringing content in
question. In accordance with our policies, we have taken the content
offline and notified the blogger of the complaint. Should the content
reappear at this post with the infringing content included, please let us
know and we will take further action.

Sincerely,
The Blogger Team

Looks like reuters lost the blog altogether. I'm getting a 404 for the domain name. It helps having the same user name for CC that I have for my Bionic name. yayyyyyyy Thank you, David, too. I assume the complete removal was due to the amount of complaints. Now to go over to the blogger forums to see if the jerk posts wondering why he lost his blog. :D

If you are interested in having the title removed from Google search results, go here:

https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/removals?pli=1

Enter the URL.
Select "Webmaster has already blocked..."
Click "Page returns a 404."

Submit it.

It will eventually drop off, but just in case, I manually removed my title in case someone searches it. At this point, the customer will find the article title in Google.
