Question about review order
Hi everyone,
I just signed up with CC and have submitted eleven articles since the 14th. Most of them (all but 2) are public requests.
Most of the public request articles have been reviewed and approved in the order I submitted them, but one that I wrote for a public request ("Ancient Use of Aloe," if you're reading this, Ed) has been sitting there for 2 days now and I've had 2 other (more recently submitted) articles approved.
I'm wondering if this is common, or did something happen to my submission?
Thanks
Rebecca MacLary

Re: Question about review order
I'd like to know about this too. I submitted an article for a public request 3 days ago and it hasn't yet been reviewed. I'm concerned because tomorrow is the deadline. In fact I'm guessing I'll need to make a change (because the author requested "tips format" and short word count I did an intro but not a conclusion) and it's looking like it may not get reviewed even a first time by tomorrow.
I'm still new so not sure if this is normal. Can I contact the customer and provide part of the article in the message?
Ed? Anyone? Help!

Re: Question about review order
Thanks Rebecca. I'm guessing it's too far into the weekend and I won't be hearing anything or getting it reviewed by tomorrow. Live and learn.
Did yours finally get reviewed? How long did it take?
happy weekend,

Re: Question about review order
Heidi,
I wrote it/submitted it on the 16th and it was accepted on the 21st. So 5 days.
I had a non-request article sit for 7 days. That's the longest any of my 26 articles have sat before being reviewed, although most (98%) of them are requests and are accepted within 3 days at most, other than the Aloe one. I think it just got missed, because I had articles that I submitted after the Aloe one get accepted before it did.

Re: Question about review order
Here's my stats for my 5 articles currently accepted:
article 1 (non-request): 13 days
article 2 (request): 1 day
article 3 (request): 12 days
article 4 (non-request): 10 days
article 5 (non-request): 7 days
This does not include any rejection times. For example, article 2 was rejected once and so would have taken longer than 1 day - but the above shows it took one day from the resubmission date. Factoring in such rejections, one can see the review time is generally (exceptions aside) a little more than is currently stated.
This is my experience thus far anyway.

Re: Question about review order
Don't forget, you shouldn't count weekends. Ed sometimes reviews articles on weekends, but he is human - I think - so he does take some well-deserved time off.
Re: Question about review order
hahaha
Last weekend, I was anxiously awaiting the approval of one of my articles. Halfway through Saturday, I realized it was not a regular work day for most people, and thought, "well, maybe Ed doesn't work on weekends..."
darn that Ed...

Re: Question about review order
Thanks all for the helpful info. I guess I never realized it could take as long as it does for reviews. My first couple articles were reviewed within 24-48 hours and I don't remember seeing anything on the forums discussing review times, so I stupidly figured that was the norm. Oh well, live and learn.
I'll probably just delete the article and repost it with a conclusion, since chances are Ed will tell me I need to do that anyway. Too late for the request but at least it's finally another article submitted.
thanks,
Heidi

Cool, thanks. And it just got approved tonight even without the conclusion.

Re: Question about review order
Yay!
I have one requested article still waiting. But I am starting to learn patience....
Now, if I could start selling, I'd feel much better about myself. I have close to 30 articles on here, and only 1 sale. gah.
