The Holiday Season

For many of us, this is a holiday season. For those of you celebrating Christmas, I wish you a beautiful and blessed Christmas. For those who have already celebrated Hannukah, I hope it was a beautiful time with family and friends. Whatever holiday you and your family celebrate at this time of year, I hope it is truly wonderful and if you are among those who don't celebrate any holidays, I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. And for everyone I wish LOTS of SALES at CC in the New Year!

Happy Holidays everyone! I'd like to add my good wishes for everyone's well-being and good sales in the new year. (or is it "in the New Year"?)

The best quote of Christmas in my home was when my three-year-old asked on Christmas Eve, "is our chimney unlocked?" I assured her it was. As I look around at the mess of toys still all over my living room today, it's clear Santa met with no impediment here.

While thinking about my hoped-for progress in the coming year here at C-C, I got this fortune in my fortune cookie the other night: "Apply yourself to the basics and progress will follow." I couldn't help laughing. Sure, fortune cookies are usually just broad statements and platitudes, but this one clearly was meant for me!

That quote about the chimney is too adorable! I hope you're writing these down somewhere. My friend notes some her kids' gems as captions to photos in a family album.

Thanks all. She is a unique kid. I don't want to mislead anyone, though: she's no Cindy Lu Who. After everyone getting a little spoiled with too many toys and being stuck inside a few too many days after 27 inches of snow, and mommy is having a hard time remembering what made both kids seem so cute on Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. I hate to admit it, but my best Holiday present came yesterday when school started again.

Back-to-school season's greetings to all the other part-time writers/full-time parents out there!

I also was sad and glad to send my 19-year-old back to college. She was starting to get bored and she's not interested in crayons or fingerpaint anymore.

27 inches of snow? I'm jealous. We only got about 17 inches over the whole vacation here in Minnesota, in several storms. Lucky you!
