Question regarding rejection

Post by ard77 »

I am new to Constant Content, and had my first article rejected for a small grammatical error. I corrected it, sent it back, and now the editor rejected it again, for several issues never mentioned the first time around.

I am wondering why these issues were not initially raised. Is it possible another editor reviewed the resubmission – explaining the complete new set of requested changes?

Thanks

They generally stop editing after the first mistake they run into. Authors are required to be able to edit their own work. When you receive a rejection, make sure you address the correction they pointed out AND thoroughly look over the rest of your article for other mistakes before resubmitting. It is very important that new writers especially read through the guidelines carefully before submitting. Make sure to read Must-Read Resources - New Authors: Start Here under the Questions and Answersthread in the forums here. Good luck!

Hi aprilk10,

Thanks for your response. I was not aware after finding a mistake, the editors stopped reviewing the article, and consequently rejects the article immediately. Somehow I missed that when reading the guidelines. Looks like I need to go back and reread them more thoroughly.

Thank you also for the tip about the "Must Read Resources" - I better read these as well.

I appreciate your help! :)
