Hi,
My name's Talon and I recently submitted an article for a public request. I rather assumed I would get my first attempt rejected but to be honest I'm no where close to knowing if I understood all that needed changing. My Grammar check is NO help what so ever and while I would really love to get into this a bit more, I'm also VERY gun shy. I'm already 1/3 of the way to being booted so if anyone's got a few minutes to chat, you can reach me through ICQ or drop me a PM if you wish.
My article is 1000 words and I'm confident in what I wrote but not in HOW it's punctuated, so any help or suggestions on where to go from here would be welcome. I read over all these links

http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/subordinateclause.htm
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/692/1
and have made a lot of changes but damned if I feel like it's good to go. Not even sure I should be doing this to be honest, but since I've nothing to lose, I figure why not?
Sincerely
T.
First time CC author not sure where to go from here.

Hi Talon,
If you would like to contact me via the CC email system (by clicking on the "Contact This Author" button in my author profile Hayleywriter), I will be happy to read over your article and give you some feedback. It can be hard when you first start out, but don't give up just yet! You've done the right thing and looked at the resources that CC suggests, so that it is a great start.
Kind regards,
Hayley

Just to briefly explain a bit about me. I didn't complete 9th grade because I was on my own by the age of 12. School was not high on the list of priorities. I went to Job Corps, briefly, to get my GED, so most of what I've learned about the English language and writing I've picked up by reading. I have a tough time with the language "rules" as a lot of times they are VERY confusing.
"I before e, except after c." As an example. That, I can remember but comma rules always kick my tail. The simple rules I get but the more complex ones, not so much. So I've sent the article to a couple of people that offered to help and hopefully with examples to go back to for comparison I can get the hang of this.
Thanks for replying

The editors were very helpful so they see potential. Go study up on commas and triple check things. CC should motivate you to become a better writer.
