Are you afraid that you will loose your money?That people will comunicate with me without going through you and paying your fee?
I know it's nice to get paid for nothing but if we don't promote ourselves how are we going to sell our articles?

Don't forget that because of THEM, the owners, editors etc We HAVE an avenue to promote our stuff. We are using their server (computer) space. We shouldn't be so quick to judge them and be snide to them.

We can prompte ourselves other ways. They give us a referral code. Put it in our emails, on our own websites. We can let people know other ways that we write here. If you want to sell your stuff cheap then do so.

But there are rules, they make them, it's their server, their site so we are under their **rules**. Why give them hell because of it? You signed up to be an author. You read the rules (or at least SHOULD have) so...

It should be "promote" and not "prompte" That's funny! I don't believe I have ever typed that before! Of course, I have done "teh" and my infamous "wrtiing" before but messing up "promote" is a first for me! lol See what happens with a newborn and lack of sleep?

I'm right there with you! My newborn isn't as new (6 months) but dang, the lack of sleep thing isn't going away!
