Use of quotations plagiarism

Post by Soulfulletters »

hello,

Am just about to submit my first article for editorial approval, it's an interesting piece, but contains lots of quotations, about 4, because it's the nature of the story.
Now, I put them all in quotes but am worried that copyscape will accuse me of plagiarism. What do you think?

Thanks

It depends how long your quotes are.

You could try passing it through a plagiarism checker first to see if it comes up with anything...there's plenty of article checkers online to use for free.

Articles are read by human editors, so as long as you cite your sources correctly and your quotes aren't too long, you'll be fine. Just make sure you say something like, "According to X..." or "X says..."
