Can we change our prices

Post by DavidFarrell »

OK guys, this is totally a noob question; I only ask it because I don't have any way of finding the answer to it having just started writing and not having any accepted articles yet (due to just starting.) If I set a price (usage, unique, and full) and the article is accepted, does that price lock in or can I change it down the road? The reason I ask is I' still getting a feel for everything here.

Also, what are your thoughts on the best offer button? I declined to add it to my first article submission as I get the impression all it does is enable people to bid like $10 for full rights.

Thanks i advance for your responses. The info means a lot as I'm trying to get an idea of potential here to set goals.

Hi David
Yes, I have gone in after an article was accepted and changed the price. Go to "my content" and click "edit." Change the price and click "save changes" at the bottom of the page. I have also edited the short summary after acceptance, in the same way. I would imagine new key words could also be added, if desired.

The article excerpt, however, can't be changed without deleting and resubmitting the whole article.

Hope this helps.

In answer to the other part of your question, David, there is probably more money lost on cc by taking low ball offers than any other. Don't allow offers for at least 6 months to a year if you can avoid it. By then, many of the articles will be gone for full price.

Thanks for your replies, they were very helpful. I am glad that my articles prices can be edited; that way if my original price was too high I can adjust it if needed.
