Can pictures be inserted in articles?

Is it acceptable to insert my own pictures into my articles? I'm writing a how-to article, and pics would be helpful to readers. Thanks.

You can only use photos when the customer has requested them, and only by e-mailing them to support with the name of your article, a descirption of the customer request, and customer name, I believe.
