I asked this before but can't find the e-mail response or forum response.
Let's say I wrote 50 articles for a dog grooming website a few years ago. Now that site is long since gone and the content along with it save my backups (I keep everything unless it's full rights handed to a client).
Can we use these articles here? I've checked snippets of various things on Google and other search engines and you can't get the articles to show up.
Sometimes something will show up in those things like feedreader but I'm not sure whether or not that counts as anything as the site itself if you click from feedreader is just a parked "buy this domain" type page.
Could that set off plagiarism detectors? I know what's mine, where it is/was and since it's technically gone would it work to submit it here?
Just wanted to check before I submitted something that I know was published at one time but is no longer live.
Here's an example snippet that shows up in Google ....sort of? It links to a couple other articles I added to the same dead site.
We all like a good myth but when it comes to car insurance, there’s simply a lot of lies floating around that people genuinely believe and will argue about with anyone. We’ve scoured many sources such as Insure.com, MSNBC, and CNN to get to the bottom of some of the most perpetuated and silly myths there are to bring you the truth.
This is just an example of a crappy article that sort of shows up, is my work, didn't sell full rights or sign an NDA, site is gone.
Anyone have experience along these lines? A majority of my older stuff has questionable grammar so I wouldn't be dumping hundreds of acne articles in a week or anything

Ok, putting one up as a test of sorts along with what I've been doing all weekend. Will keep you forum folk updated.

Well, seems fine!
Too bad most of my ancient articles are on a hard drive ripped from an old PC years ago haha.
Good to know that this works however. Make sure you keep your stuff that isn't fully handed over to a client somewhere accessible like Dropbox I guess.
