What is acceptable to submit to client via Q&A?

I'm aware that once an article is written and accepted, I can submit a post to the client via the Q&A in response to the request along with a link to the article.

But before writing the article, is it accepted to post a message to the client stating my intention to write a certain topic that is listed in his/her request? For example, a client submits a request for photography-related articles and then lists 5 or 6 actual article topics that he wants articles for, like "Film Development", "Creating a Studio", etc. Can an author post a message to the client and state that he/she is interested in writing the "Film Development" article?

Well, it's for Constant to say definitively, of course, but I would say sure! This lets the customer know that there is interest in their request, and that you are interested in or writing for that particular part of their request. It doesn't mean they'll necessarily accept your articles, of course, but it does make them aware that they don't have to choose the first article that comes through; they can be picky.

Also, it's a great time to mention any special experience you've had. If, for example, you've been a professional photographer for several years, or your photos have won prizes in competitions. It may not help your case, but it certainly won't hurt!

I agree with Keesa -- it certainly never hurts to let a customer know that you are interested and willing to write for him/her. Just know that customers don't always have the courtesy to reply! Good luck.
