CHANGING CATEGORIES

Post by Peacekeeper »

Is it possible to change categories for a posted article? I noted in another forum that Ed added an article to another category. I do not see a way that I can edit my article to get it into a more appropriate sub category. Is there a way?
Thanks.

No, you can't do it, but I can. What's the title of the article and under what cat/subcat would you like it to go?

Ed,

I am new to CC still (just joined this month). I am curious about the category thing too. Can one article be listed under 2 different categories at the same time? For example, one of my newly posted articles could be under "gardening" or "health food". When I tried to search by the keyword "growing sprouts" I could not find it.

It's not critical for this article. I just wish to learn more about the art of categorizing my articles. Thank you.

Try to place your article in the most appropriate subcategory upon submission. The category system isn't very useful as it is, in my opinion, but staff is working on making it less unweildy. Articles can be placed in two categories, but I usually won't do this because it is time-consuming. It's more important to place your in an appropriate cat/subcat at the beginning - most customers are going to arrive at articles through search, rather than by browsing categories anyway. The search feature will also be improved.
