Hello, I'm a new author here on CC. I've been reading the forums and learning - thanks to all the great posts.
I have a question about sidebars. I realize in writing for the internet that sidebars are not commonly used for the same purpose as magazines. Let's say you want to write an article on the history of scones. How would you include a recipe in that article? Put it on the bottom after the closing paragraph? Or put it close to the end of the article and then write the closing paragraph? Would you make a note in the short summary that a sidebar was included?
Thanks for any help and suggestions.

I've seen writers place it after the final paragraph of the article. And yep, I would include a note about a sidebar in the short summary.
