Interview quotes?
I secured an interview with Olympian Errol Kerr (the entire Jamaican Ski Team) for my blog but I want to do a couple articles about him for CC as well. Can I use direct "I" quotes from the skier as part of an article about him? Does that violate the first person rule? I have direct email from him for the interview so there is no issues with copyright or copying improperly.
Re: Interview quotes?
Oh, cool. Interview quotes are fine. Just keep in mind that most of the work must be be in the writer's own words and quotes should be supplemented with information.
So something like . . .
"I'm really looking forward to 2014," Kerr says. He's referencing the Winter Olympics that will be held in Sochi, Russia. There, Olympic snow events will be held in Krasnaya Polyana, a part of the Western Caucusus mountains. (Whatever's relevant.)
Thanks,
Ed
