i submitted an all original article of 400+ words error free. there was no reason given why it was rejected but it was alluded to have been copied. i can tell you right now i didn't copy the article from anywhere! it might be because my topic is common. but regardless of this, your system or editors should be able to discern which is original and which is not. you made a mistake here.
now i'm suspended as well. i'm guessing because of suspected plagiarism. you're wrong in doing this so i'm asking for an explanation.

Re: Rejected and Suspended
The site's editors no longer come to the forums. For basic information, the editors use CopyScape or something like it, if I'm remembering correctly, to search to see if the articles submitted are indeed original. If an article is found with the exact text it is automatically rejected unless it's being sold here for usage rights, and the name on the article found is the same as here. In other words, you can sell articles that you have published elsewhere for usage rights, but only if the author names on both articles are the same.
My guess is, if you didn't publish the same article somewhere else under a different name, that they found an identical article (or at least almost completely identical) published elsewhere. You can appeal the decision by writing support, but I warn you that I have never heard of an instance where the site's administrators have overturned the decision of an editor.

I was sad to come back to CC and see that Ed hasn't even logged into the forum since July, so I assume he has moved on to greener pastures. Ed, as much as a stickler he was for grammar, was a great help to me and I believe other writers.
So, Ed, if ya ever stop by here and read, thanks so much for your awesome help with this noob writer.

I asked, and Ed is indeed still employed at CC. He took a vacation when the other editors were hired, but as far as I know he's still working long hours. A decision was made at the top to distance the staff from the writers. While Ed was able to keep his being involved on a personal level with the writers in the forums and his professional duties, and the new people can probably do so as well, the professional aspects of the decision are to be understood. While I too miss having at least some interaction with Ed, I can see the merit of the decision from the business standpoint. It's kind of like the reason officers and enlisted military members are kept separated for the most part. Even if not the case, an officer who spends more time with one or more enlisted members of his command than others WILL eventually be accused of favoritism by other members of the command or by the officer's superiors. The best way to stop a battle is never having to fight it in the first place.Lysis wrote:I was sad to come back to CC and see that Ed hasn't even logged into the forum since July, so I assume he has moved on to greener pastures.
