Conclusions about Conclusions

Post by Happenstance »

I'm a newbie (sort of). I've tried a couple of times to get articles up here, and both times it has come back saying the article needs a conclusion. I'll confess here that I have been writing for a long time at DMS where conclusions are neither required nor desired. I know what I would do for a conclusion in most articles or a research paper, but I am wondering exactly what Constant Content means by "conclusion." Is it the same, or do that have their own spin?

Hi, no offense, but I wouldn't apply any "lessons learned" from DMS at other places. Yes, that is just my opinion.

To answer your question about writing conclusions, I am guessing you should write the conclusion that you would for a research paper or article as you mention in the OP. DMS templates leave the reader hanging, then DMS adds "read more" links and ads links at the bottom where the conclusion would go. My personal theory is that by not concluding the article, the reader somehow perceives the links as part of the article and is more likely to click them.

And no, I don't think that CC has any special or different spin on what a conclusion is.

Hope that is helpful, good luck.

Cool. Thanks. And yes I know DMS has an odd way of doing things. Believe me, no one realizes that better than I do. :)

lol Hello thar. I know you. ;)

I usually just do 3-5 sentences that wrap up the article. It's really no biggie.
