Tell me if I did this wrong.

I saw a request for several different types of articles. The buyer said contact me first to tell me what you would like to write. I responded via the Q/A and named a few topics I could write on. The buyer responded, saying that two of the topics would work. I wrote one article and submitted it as usual. When it was approved, I tagged it to the buyer via a message in the Q/A on the request. The article has been showing as "order being processed/unpaid" for about a day. But, I have noticed in the recently sold content several articles that look like the types this buyer was looking for. These articles show up as sold as private requests. Should I have considered my article a private request because the buyer said the topics would work? Should I have submitted differently? I just want to make sure I am working the cc system correctly.
