keeping account active

I apologize if this answer is somewhere on the site, but I can't find it! How often do I have to write articles to keep my account active?

As far as I know, your account won't be closed by C-C even if you take time off. I've read several posts from folks who took a year or more hiatus and came back. I guess it depends on how much money you want to make!
