Italics to emphasize a word

Post by JD »

Is it permissible to use italics to emphasize a word? And, if so, how can I ensure that this formatting isn’t lost when the text is pasted into the summary boxes? I know that italics will remain in the Word document I attach to my submission, but they won’t remain in the text once it’s pasted into the summary boxes (which, of course, results in those words in the text, when read on CC’s site, losing their emphasis).

Thanks.

Thanks for asking this question, JD - it's something I've been wondering about too. Sometimes you just need italics.

Yes, please use italics if you need them. However, they will not show up in the summary boxes. This won't matter upon review.
